Hi Greg,

I TRIED to arrange things so that the first flood of 10 politics-only posts didn't come through Feedblitz, by not including this blog into my integrated feed until after they were up. That didn't work out. Sorry about that. :(

That said: I offer a broad variety of subscription options -- including both RSS and FeedBlitz just for Text Technologies -- at http://www.monash.com/signup.html . I hope you'll stay with the integrated feed, because there's synergy among the different subjects I write about, but you certainly can restrict yourself to only Text Technologies if you like.

OK, for the sake of argument, let's assume there is a connection between enterprise technology and politics. I might be interested in occasional posts about that connection if they are about the concept of that connection. These might use specific examples to make points about the concept.

However, while you and I may actually find much to agree about in our politics, I did not subscribe to your blog to get your political opinions or current horse-race commentary. I find the recent political posts annoying and wish I could turn them off. The Feedblitz configuration doesn't appear to let me turn off Strategic Marketing separate from Text Technologies.

As useful and interesting as I find the Text Technologies blog, I'm going to have to unsubscribe if I can't find a way to turn off these political messages.

Brilliant post, and the analogy is true not only for the marketer but the buyer as well. Choosing either starts with high hopes, but is soon bogged down by frustration and disillusionment. The campaign culminates in choosing the lesser of two evils and is followed by evasion of responsibility for promises made. Ouch.
